TEST BORING CO., INC. is experienced in all types of
Geotechnical and environmental soil sampling, rock coring and subsurface
investigations. Our experience also
includes the installation of slope indicators, porous stone piezometers and
pneumatic packers. Our
soil drilling procedures utilize hollow stem and solid stem augers, driven
casing, and mud rotary drilling methods, which range from 2” to 12” in
diameter and extend up to depths of 500’.
Our soil sampling methods include 2” to 3 ½” O.D. split spoon
samplers, undistributed samples (both piston and stationary head), Denison and
sidewall sampling. Our rock
drilling equipment includes both conventional and wire-line drilling systems,
which range in size from “B” through “H.” MONITORING

is experienced in the installation of PVC,
steel, and stainless steel monitoring wells, which range in diameters from ¾”
to 8”. Methods of installation
include the use of hollow stem augers, driven casing and mud rotary methods.
Our licensed well drillers are qualified to install all forms of approved monitoring
wells at Superfund, ECRA and Underground Storage Tank (USTS) sites throughout
Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New
York. In addition, our drillers are
certified to abandon and seal existing groundwater wells. GEOTECHNICAL

engineering staff, which provides a wide range of services. Such services
include full-time supervision of test boring and monitoring well installations.
In addition, our staff provides test boring data analysis, subsurface soil’s
evaluation, foundation design/recommendations, consultations, and field
inspections. Our field inspection
services include footing bottom inspection, bearing capacity verification, pile
monitoring, load testing, and fill placement inspection.
