Company Profile
CRAIG TEST BORING CO., INC.
is fully equipped and professionally staffed to provide a complete range of
subsurface explorations and geotechnical engineering. Subsurface investigations to determine bearing capacity and
suitability for planned construction is accomplished with a modern fleet of
truck and all-terrain drill rigs. These
rigs are operated by experienced drillers who utilize driven casing, hollow stem
auger and mud rotary drilling methods. An
in-house engineering staff maintains supervision and monitoring of the soil
investigations. Because classification and evaluation of soil properties are critical to
design and construction, the laboratory staff is trained in the latest ASTM
Identification Methods. Interpretation
of test boring data is carried out by licensed professional engineers and
provides the basis for foundation, pavement, utility and landscaping
recommendations. Among the soil
testing services available are standard penetration sampling, auger borings,
rock coring, installation of groundwater observation wells, installation of
groundwater monitoring wells and complete engineering analysis, including field
supervision, foundation recommendations and design.
CTB’s field
technicians are trained to implement the recommendations of its professional
staff as determined by the Geotechnical Division.
Field services include test pit examination, environmental
reconnaissance, percolation testing, controlled fill placement testing, footing
bottom inspection, bearing capacity determination, pile monitoring, soil load
tests, pile driving supervision and under-pinning controlled inspection.
Laboratory soil tests involve identification and classification, bearing
capacity, compaction and consolidation characteristics, soils sieve analysis,
soil aggregate analysis and permeability tests. |
